An affidavit is a written statement in which an individual, known as the affiant, declares that the information contained in the document is true to the best of their knowledge. Affidavits are commonly used in legal, financial, real estate, business, insurance, and personal matters and often require the signer to make an oath or affirmation before a Notary Public.
