Certifications / Certified Copies
A certified copy is used when you need to establish that a copy of a document is a true and accurate reproduction of the original. Depending on the type of document and applicable New Jersey notarial requirements, a Notary Public may be able to perform a copy certification or another appropriate notarial act related to the document.
At Raritan Valley Notary Services, we take a careful, detail-oriented approach to certification requests. We will review the document and the requested notarial act to determine whether it is one that a New Jersey Notary Public is authorized to perform. When appropriate, the original document is compared with the copy before the applicable notarial certificate is completed.
Certified or notarized copies may be requested in connection with business matters, legal transactions, financial matters, personal records, applications, and other situations in which documentation must be presented to another organization or individual.
Because not every document is eligible for notarial copy certification—and certain official records must be obtained directly from the government agency or custodian that maintains them—we encourage clients to confirm what type of certification the receiving organization requires.
Careful verification. Professional service. Confidence in every document.
