An acknowledgment is one of the most commonly requested notarial acts and is used to confirm that the person signing a document has done so knowingly and voluntarily. During the notarization, the signer personally appears before the Notary Public, provides satisfactory evidence of identity, and acknowledges that the signature on the document is their own and was made willingly for the purposes stated within the document.
Acknowledgments are frequently used for important legal, financial, business, and real estate documents, including deeds, powers of attorney, trusts, contracts, property-related documents, and other agreements requiring notarization.
