Remote Online Notarization (RON)

Remote Online Notarization (RON) provides a convenient way to complete eligible notarizations online without meeting with the Notary Public in person. Using approved communication technology, the signer and Notary can interact remotely in real time while documents are electronically signed and notarized.

At Raritan Valley Notary Services, we offer Remote Online Notarization for eligible documents, giving clients the flexibility to complete important notarizations from their home, office, or another convenient location.

New Jersey permits commissioned notaries who meet the applicable requirements to perform remote and electronic notarizations. A remote session must use secure, real-time audio-visual communication, and the Notary must obtain satisfactory identification and use required identity-proofing procedures.

During your RON appointment, you'll connect with the Notary through the designated online platform, complete the required identity-verification process, electronically sign the document as instructed, and participate in the requested notarial act. The Notary then completes the electronic notarial certificate and applies the appropriate electronic signature and stamp.

Not every document or transaction is necessarily appropriate for remote notarization, so we can confirm whether your requested notarization can be completed through our RON service before scheduling.
